The 4 Hilarious Stages of Trying to Look "Normal" in Public
We’ve all experienced it. You’re walking down the street, sitting in a waiting room, or standing in an elevator, and suddenly, your brain decides to hit the panic button. You become painfully aware of your own existence and suddenly forget how to be a human being.
Here are the 4 stages of overthinking how "normal" you look in public:
You are walking down a long hallway, and someone is walking towards you. Suddenly, you realize you have legs. Am I walking too fast? Why are my arms swinging like that? Should I put my hands in my pockets? By the time they pass you, you are walking like a malfunctioning robot.
Stage 2: The "Where Do I Look?" Panic
You’re sitting in a waiting room or on a train. You can’t stare at the person across from you, looking at the ceiling is weird, and staring at the floor makes you look sad. So, you pull out your phone and aggressively scroll through a menu you don't even care about, just to look busy.
Stage 3: Manual Blinking Mode Activated
You start talking to someone, and suddenly you focus on their eyes. Wait, am I blinking too much? Or not enough? Have I been staring into their soul for the last 30 seconds? Now you are manually forcing yourself to blink every 4 seconds so you don’t look crazy.
Stage 4: Manual Breathing
The final boss of social awkwardness. The room goes quiet, and suddenly you are hyper-aware of the air entering and leaving your lungs. Am I breathing too loudly? Can they hear me? Now you are carefully planning every inhale and exhale like you’re doing a yoga exercise in the middle of a grocery store.
What is your most embarrassing "trying to act normal" habit? Let us know in the comments! 😂

When me and my man are trying to get our freak on and I decide to go down on him but my brain goes into panic mode and all of a sudden I feel like I'm standing on a stage in front of a live studio audience trying to sing. My brain just goes left.
